Technology

The year 7 kids had another session in art due to the fact that the horticulture teacher was away again. The year 7 kids made herb garden pots. They first had to get all the air out of the clay by banging it on the table. Next they flattened out the clay and cut out a teardrop shape. After that they used the remaining clay to make a pocket shape and mold it onto the teardrop shape. The final thing was to place newspaper into the pocket and add some decorative patterns to add some finishing touches to the pot. They then put it in to the kiln room.

You will be keen to see your clay plant holders when they have been fired. I wonder what sort of plants you will put in them? Let's hope your horticulture teacher is back this week.
